This is our day 2 video compilation of cycling around the Balaton Lake. we have another 4 videos uploaded which represent for another 4 days we cycled.
we started our cycling on 28th June and finished on 1st July,2021. ( 5 days)
we took train from Deli Palyaudvar to Siofok.
Cyclists have two options at their disposal: to start the trip on the south coast or the north coast. But does it really matter where to start? In fact, it does. While the north coast is considered to be more difficult because of the hillside routes and the varying altitude, the south and west coasts are completely flat. Therefore, if you decide to start with the more difficult northern one, then you will know for sure that the worst part is already over.
We came to a decision to start from the South Coast route which was from Siofok as it's more flat compared to the North Coast route.
day 1 : Siofok to Balatonboglar (43.7 km +/-)
day 2 : Balatonboglar to Keszthely (47.1 km +/-)
day 3 : Keszthely to Badasconytomaj (30.3 km +/-)
day 4 : Badasconytomaj to Balatonfured (43.2 km +/-)
day 5 : Balatonfured to Siofok (55.5 km +/-)
Some quick short informations we would like to share with you guys :
The cycle route around Lake Balaton is over 200 kms long.
The route consists of dedicated cycle paths and quiet side roads.
The route on the Southern and Western parts of the lake is fairly flat.
The route on the Northern and Eastern parts of the lake is fairly hilly.
Wherever marked cycle routes exist, cyclists should use the cycle routes in preference to main roads.
