HOLBROOK, Mass. (WKRC) -- A man bought a desk at an auction and as he searched for a missing knob -- he found something much more valuable.
When Phil Leclerc rattled it around a bit, an envelope dropped down out of a narrow opening.
Inside was more than $127,000 in mature savings bonds.
Leclerc went back to the auction house to track down the last owner, and this surprise could not have come at a better time.
It turns out the bonds belonged to a man who needed the money to help his 94-year-old father.
