North Yorkshire Moors Railway 2022 Autumn Steam Gala had three guest locomotives. Taff Vale 0-6-2T 85 visiting from The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, BR Standard 5MT 4-6-0 73156 based at the Great Central Railway and a welcome return of LNER A4 4-6-2 4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley".
They were joined by LNER J27 0-6-0 65894, Lambton & Joicey Colliery 0-6-2T No.29, SR 4-6-0 S15 30825, BR 2-6-4T 4MT 80136, LNER Q6 0-8-0 63395 and BR 2-10-0 9F 92134.
I spent Friday in and around Esk Valley, it was a beautiful, clear autumn day with bright sunshine. The trains ran very well to time all day after the first departure from Grosmont until the 17:15 departure.
