23. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Mirella Serlorenzi, Baths of Caracalla Director:
"The domus is reopening after 30 years and it is a great novelty because, in addition to the room of the sacellum (prayer room) that was already visible, for those who were lucky enough to see it 30 years ago, we present a new room of the domus that is the triclinium with paintings that have never been seen before and therefore presented to the public for the first time."
24. Information plaque with Latin words and Roman ruins of the Bath of Caracalla in the background
25. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Alba Casaramona, Superintendency archaeologist:
"It (Roman domus) fits into this context because here in the surroundings, there were other domus of great importance. There was the domus of Asinius Polonius who was an important politician who lived in the time of Augustus, so before the owner of our domus. There were also the private houses of some emperors, the 'privata Adriani', namely the private house of the emperor Hadrian, that we know was right in the area of the Small Aventine, so let's say the domus belonged to wealthy people."

"We are re-examining all the fragments. We are talking about no less than 100 boxes of material, so a huge amount of a ceiling that measured 60 square metres, made with very expensive and very precious colours such as Egyptian blue or red, and the idea is to recompose it, (in respect of the 70s, we are already having new studies) and to show it to the public in full in the near future."
