This was the moment a large lorry heading across the M62 was engulfed in a rapid inferno as the metal frame of the cabin melted away during shocking scenes.
The lorry fire brought traffic to a standstill near Huddersfield on Friday morning. Clouds of black smoke can be seen for miles as fire ravaged a large Heavy Goods Vehicle which was pulled up at the side of the #M62.
Drivers have been held while fire crews get to the scene to try and put the flames out. It happened between Junction 22 for #RishworthMoor and Junction 23 for New Hey Road in #Huddersfield.
West Yorkshire and Rescue Service who sent four pumps to the scene were also supported by 2 pumps from Greater Manchester Fire Service.
The fire spread to the grass banking also. Fire crews ferried water to the scene and used 1 Large jet, 2 Hosereel Jets and 4 Breathing apparatus. The fire reignited whilst crews were raking the sawdust making the fire difficult to deal with.
