In July 1954, an unknown man arrived at Tokyo's Haneda Airport. He presented himself as a businessman from a country called Taured. But the officials were stunned when they couldn't find any trace of Taured on the world map. The man was insistent and showed them his passport and documents, which all featured the name Taured. Despite the substantial paperwork that the businessman had on hand, neither the company he claimed to represent, nor the hotel for which he claimed to have a reservation, were aware of his visit. The authorities then decided to detain the man for further investigation, but to their surprise, he vanished from his hotel room overnight. The investigators found no trace of him, and the only evidence left behind was his passport, which seemed authentic but was clearly from a non-existent country. Some say it's a hoax, while others believe that.
