Unboxing, setup and review of Amazon's Echo Flex smart speaker, a plug-and-play Alexa device that adds voice control to any room of your house. Like the Echo Dot, this is a compact, convenient way of adding the Alexa AI wherever you like - and for just £20, this is one of the best budget options if you need something cheap and fully-featured.

However, while the Echo Flex is easy to set up, the tiny size means Amazon's assistant will struggle to be heard in noisy environments. Luckily you can connect a separate Bluetooth speaker if you want to boost that sound power and stream music. I've been testing the Flex for a while now and so far it's definitely a solid device. You can add that smart home voice control to anywhere in your house, without having to mount the Echo Dot on a wall or shove it away wherever there's space. Of course, if you have a spare surface and you're after a bit more power/better sound quality, the standard Echo speaker or Google's Nest device will be a better option - even if they're not as budget friendly.
