Go on...eat it. (It's not poisonous, it's actually very tasty)

What You Need:
4 small apples
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1 package dark colored drink mix, like cherry
2 tsp kosher salt for caramels

Mirror mirror on the wall, what’s the deadliest halloween treat of all? Poisoned apples let’s make some!

First, jab some sticks into the top of four small apples like pink ladies or honeycrisp that you washed with hot water. I’m using chopsticks cuz they’re sturdy. Set them aside.

Alright get a small cauldron and fill it with your sugar, corn syrup and water. Bring it to a boil and place your candy thermometer in so you can cook it to precisely 300 degrees.

Once it hits 300 get it off the heat quickly and carefully. Stir it gently until it cools a little then pour in your drink mix. I like my apples nice and dark so I put in a few drops of black food coloring too.

Now carefully swirl the apples in the syrup. Like that. After you get a few layers on it, lift it and allow the extra syrup to drip down as you twirl it.

Place your apple on a parchment lined sheet and hold it there for a second as the caramel sets.

Repeat with all the apples.

If you have leftover caramel, pour it onto a parchment lined sheet and let it set. Sprinkle on some salt. Boom salty caramels! Break it into shards, you know like a mirror.

Now they’re ready to give to mouthy stepchildren stepping on your climb to power. Happy halloween!
