Had another cracking day out fishing and exploring on Loch Long on Monday, Aug 19. Arrived in Arrochar at about 10.30am and it was blowing a bit so wasn't too sure about going out (No VHF/or license at the mo).
Went out and ended up having a blast. Caught about 20 mackerel but as you can see in the video they're mostly really small, too small to keep/eat IMO. No other species were caught from the kayak though I was talking to a fella on the shore about a mile from Arrochar who'd had a lovely pollock.
The weather was mostly fine and staying close to shore kept me out of the worst of the wind. Did get caught in a bit of a shower in the afternoon but it was all good.
This is the second outing in the Galaxy Cruz and it's proving to be rock solid on the water. It does take on water, usually either from spray coming over the front sides or from the front going under after dipping into a trough.
No sign of my seal friend John Merrick today.
Tight lines folks.
