The town of Pushkin (until 1918, Tsarskoe Selo which is literally the Tsar's Settlement). Founded in 1710 as the suburban residence of the Russian Emperial family. It is located in 24km south from the center of St Petersburg. The railroad between St Petersburg and Pushkin (Tsarkoe Selo) was the very first railroad in Russia, constructed in 1837.
The Russian Emperial Family lived in the Catherine Palace, constructed in 1756.
