The sardine run along the Kwa-Zulu Natal coast of South Africa for 2020, began this week. Locals look forward to this time of year as the sardines make their appearance in shoals along the warmer waters.

This was a favourite growing up along the coast. A tradition eagerly awaited by locals as the first run appears.

This year has been unusual as a shark overshadowed the sardine by getting trapped in the fish nets and had to be rescued.
