I'll be the first person to say I never thought I would experience something like a wheel implosion! After a full day of bike park riding with my friend Simon at Ride Rock Creek, we decided to pre-ride the pro course - Stampede. A pre-ride is critical on a track like Stampede as it is designed to push riders and their bikes to the limit through massive features and epth-definging terrain. On this particular pre ride lap it was a goal of mine to complete each of the major features one by one until I felt confined on them. When I attempted the tombstone gap (35' long and 15' tall road gap) I came up a touch short and my rear wheel exploded into six different pieces!
