hello
hello
welcome back
like I have promised, we are diving straight into my roots, where I come from. Experience the culture of the Hambukushu tribe through me.
I am happy you could join me today.
This video showcases the mbukushu traditional dance, called Thiwinji. it is found in the northern part of Botswana, the Okavango region.
it is mainly danced during celebrations. it's a happy dance that we as Bambukushu pride ourselves with.
it is fairly easy to imitate allowing everyone to join in, even if you are new to the dance.
you take a step and twirl on the side and turn to the other side doing the same, making sure your hands, body and waist are in tune with the African drums..
This is a dance for everyone, men, women and children include.
the attire, is a knee length skirt with a top of any kind. It could be made from cloth or animal skin.
in this video we see both.
if you have any question, or need to know more about this dance or culture you should feel free to comment down below.
enjoy.
