Like my previous engines this one was inspired originally by NeedForSneed (formerly Hamburgerhead), though I mostly went my own way in its creation. Unlike his, this one features a flat-plane crank (I originally tried a cross-plane crank with firing order 1-2-3-4) which allows every other cylinder to produce torque every half-turn of the crankshaft, as opposed to a cross-plane design where the pistons on one half of the engine are just dead weight for half a cycle. Most of the cylinders are lubricated with WD-40 here, though to keep the pistons from catching on the sidewalls (which was a serious problem and would not allow the engine to run at all) I installed some new 1x2x5 sidewalls which I didn't lubricate before filming. The vacuum cleaner battery could be a bit more fully charged so maybe I'll re-upload another video sometime.
Kudos as well to whoever it was that suggested using a rubber tire on the vacuum hose as a seal.
I'd also like to promote a Discord server I really enjoy and I think my Lego-building audience will too:

Technic Builds and Lego Engines (TBLE), linked above, is a Lego Technic builders server that has inspired me to design a lot of what I have posted videos about. I encourage anyone reading this to give it a try if you're interested in Lego building and maybe it can inspire you to build something cool or help other builders out.
