Answering a question about how overseas nurses who are single parents can navigate child care in UK.
Child care is one of the difficulties all overseas nurses face in the UK, rightly because we have no family around in the UK to support. There are no househelps.
You could use the services of registered child minders but very expensive.
When planning to come to UK to start your OSCE preparation and nursing registration process ,my personal advise will be to leave the children with your parents or trusted family member. This is a difficult decision any parent will make. You can keep in touch with your children via zoom or other video calls on and support financially.
You will be able to get your children to join you after registration as a nurse and a stable job at least after one year.
Make friends who also have children whilst here so when your children come over, you can share and support each other with child care. Average child care cost per week is over £200.00 .
