The City of Gaithersburg wants to destroy their home:
[ Ссылка ]
This is in a tiny strip of wild woods in Gaithersburg, Maryland, amongst suburban housing developments, offices, and a school. The City of Gaithersburg plans to DESTROY this habitat in the name of "restoring" it!
Despite its small size, these woods support a thriving, complex ecosystem -- just look at these healthy fox cubs frolic around! The City of Gaithersburg plants to clear-cut these trees and fill in the nearby creek, killing or chasing away all wildlife in the area (like this fox family).
There is a hiking trail through these woods (where this video is taken from) so nearby residents can enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature right in their backyard, despite living in a highly-developed suburban area.
The City of Gaithersburg plans to destroy this section of forest in order to satisfy some artificial guidelines, to make the right numbers in some spreadsheet, without any regard for woods itself. It's not clear who will benefit from this project (not this fox family, not the nearby human residents) aside from the demolition and construction companies that collect a payday.
