Undralla payasam recipe is a sweet dish that is prepared as naivedyam to lord ganesha during Ganesh Chaturthi. It is the most popular south indian sweet. It is also called as pala undrallu or payasam undrallu. Rice balls or undrallu are prepared and boiled in milk to make payasam. Jaggery syrup or sugar can be used as a sweetener.
~: Ingredients required for Undralla Payasam :~
For preparing undrallu or rice balls :
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Water - 1 cup
Ghee - 1 tsp
Jaggery syrup - 2 tbsp
For preparing payasam:
Milk - 2 cups (500 ml)
Water - 1/2 cup (125ml)
Rice balls or undrallu
Jaggery syrup - prepared from 1/2 grated jaggery and 1/3 cup water
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Dry coconut - 2 tbsp
Cashews - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 1 tbsp
