May 3, 2021—The Iranian Resistance Units, the internal network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized widespread anti-regime activities across the country.
The Resistance Units installed posters of the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi in different areas. This is while they are constantly at risk of being arrested because the regime punishes support for the MEK with heavy sentences.
The Resistance Units continued their month-long campaign calling for the boycott of the regime’s upcoming elections in June. These activities reflect the Iranian population’s frustration with four decades of tyranny and lack of democracy in Iran. These efforts have received widespread support from the public and tie in with slogans that farmers, pensioners, creditors, and many other communities in Iran have been chanting in the protests in the past few weeks.
They wrote:
Tehran— “In the struggle of the country’s destiny, either death or freedom.” / “The election boycott is a response to the killing of 1500 protesters in November 2019.”
Isfahan— “Our vote is regime change and yes to a democratic republic”
Rasht— “Our vote is regime change and boycott of the sham elections”
Rasht— “The Iranian people’s nationwide boycott of this election is the flip side of popular uprisings”
Ghaemshahr— “The uprising has proven that the solution is Resistance which will lead to regime change”
Tabriz— “In the eyes of the Iranian people, the mullahs’ sham election has no legitimacy” / “Our vote is regime change and boycott of the sham elections”
Tehran— “Down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi”
Sabzevar— “Yes to a democratic republic”
Zahedan— Rasht— “Our vote is regime change, yes to a democratic republic”
Behbahan— “Our vote is a democratic republic”
