The west cannot afford to deal with economic risk without China, the opposite also holds true, said Domenico Lombardi, professor and director of the Policy Observatory Institute at Italy's Luiss University and former executive board member of the IMF and the World Bank. Lombardi made the statement at the Global Strategic Dialogue (2024) session, jointly held on Thursday in Beijing by the CASS and China Daily.
