We review a 2023 Cadillac Escalade V!
Now, the current, fifth generation of Cadillac’s flagship SUV debuted in 2020 and many will agree that it’s a generational leap in terms of design, technology, and ride quality compared to predecessors. For 2023, Cadillac added a hardcore, V-sport variant which might defeat the purpose, but us, car enthusiasts are super happy about it.
So, the question is, what is so special about the V? Well, obviously it’s the monster that sits under the hood - a hand-built 6.2-liter supercharged V8, producing 682 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, and 653 lb-ft of torque at 44-hundred rpm.
The Escalade V also received a revamped suspension - you get stiffer rear air springs and redesigned dampers, six-piston Brembo front brakes, recalibrated 10-speed automatic transmission and an electronic LSD, all to improve driving characteristics of something that by all means should not be fun to drive.
There aren't many cars that compete with the Escalade V, but you can also consider a BMW Alpina BX7 or a Mercedes GLS 63 AMG.
