Masca is a small village located on the island of Tenerife, which is part of the Canary Islands, an archipelago belonging to Spain. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and is known for its diverse landscapes, including mountains, beaches, and volcanic terrain.
Masca is situated in a remote and picturesque part of the island, nestled in the Teno Mountains in the northwest of Tenerife. The village is characterized by its charming architecture with traditional Canarian houses, narrow winding streets, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
One of the notable features of Masca is the Masca Gorge (Barranco de Masca), a scenic ravine that offers a popular hiking trail. The hike through the gorge takes you through lush vegetation, towering cliffs, and eventually leads to a black sand beach. The trail can be challenging, but it rewards hikers with breathtaking views along the way.
Masca is often visited by tourists for its natural beauty and the unique experience of exploring the rugged landscape of the Teno Mountains.
