Margarise Correa is the founder of BayBrazil, a conduit for business between U.S. and Brazil. In 2010 she created a series of events, Forum on Emerging Economies, to discuss the economy and the IT & cleantech industries in the BRIC nations. Recently, she has been organizing the first conference on Brazil in the Bay Area, "Brazil in the 21st century." Margarise has 10 years of experience in project management and international business. She is a true believer in the power of education to better our world. As an International Program Manager for the Silicon Valley Center for International Trade Development, she helped undergrad students to deepen their understanding of U.S.-Brazil relations through the academic exchange program she managed between the two regions. As a professional consultant Margarise has assisted Californian and Brazilian organizations to establish bi-lateral connections. She has planned and executed a series of business events in the Bay Area, including a trade mission to Brazil on renewable energy and biofuels. She also hosts international delegations in California and has promoted business, educational and cultural ties between the U.S. and Brazil. Margarise holds a B.A. in Journalism and before moving to the Bay Area she worked seven years as a news reporter, editor and anchor at Brazilian network broadcasters.
