Emotional extortion (or emotional blackmail) is a complicated occurrence in abusive and dysfunctional families.
You may feel powerless to protect yourself and your life from the family member who is attempting to control you.
You may feel overwhelmed by their many attempts to use your social media, your mental health history, and even your PTSD against you.
Perhaps you feel powerless to set the boundary for fear that you will lose a real or imagined support system.
Whatever it may be it is important to understand what emotional extortion entails so that you can become stronger in your attempts to protect yourself.
In this video, I discuss both neurotic behavior and emotional blackmail as well as offer you tips on how to manage this.
