As coronavirus cases surge in the Sunbelt region, the Trump administration has pointed to the declining death tolls as a positive sign. Dr. Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, said this may be a deceptive statistic. He said that there's now data that shows death tolls are actually going up in those places. Jha spoke with PBS NewsHour’s William Brangham on July 9 to answer viewer questions about the latest information related to the coronavirus, especially as many states start reopening, despite rising case counts.
