What brings the United Arab Emirates and Poland #TOGETHER at Expo 2020 Dubai? Architectural symbolism! 🇦🇪🤝🇵🇱

Architecture is an excellent medium for conveying creative messages. Both the United Arab Emirates and Poland prove it through their Pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai!

The UAE Pavilion is a ‘symbolic interpretation of the flow of movement’. The 28 cantilevered wings with angles of 110 and 125 degrees perfectly convey the impression of gliding through space. 🪶

The Poland Pavilion depicts movement through a kinetic sculpture imitating a flock of birds in flight. Poland is a breeding ground for migrating birds during the summer. They nurture their chicks and then fly off in late autumn and early winter to Africa and the Arabian Peninsula for the warmer conditions. Then the cycle repeats itself. The birds are perceived as Polish but Arabic as well, reflecting the Expo theme of Mobility and movement. Their migration also symbolises the export of ideas between our nations 🕊️

This week, the UAE Pavilion received a special gift: an artistic interpretation of the UAE Pavilion created by Polish artist @Dawid Ryski. Through art, we show our shared admiration towards modern architecture and design 🖌️
