18 months after their last gala event, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway returned to the gala scene once again with their Mixed Traffic Gala over the weekend of 10th-12th September. The event would see predominantly the home fleet in service, and they were joined by two guest locos in the form of BR Class 26 No 26007 and BR Class 27 No 27001. The event would also provide once of the last opportunities to see resident LMS 4F No 43924 in service before withdrawal for overhaul. The weather over the weekend was mostly cloudy, with the occasional bit of rain, and some sun also making an appearance too.
