What's The Noise In The Background of Every MRI Scan? The sights and sounds of an MRI scan can be overwhelming. This video highlights one of the "MRI train sounds" that can be heard in the background of every MRI scan. The coldhead recondenser unit keeps the liquid helium in MRI scanners in a state as cold as 4.3 Kelvin, or around -270 Celsius.
