This video will give you an idea of what to actually expect when you do the Pedra Da Gavea hike (trilha). The Carrasqueira is the hardest part and you will see how we got up that part. Garganta do Ceu is a lookout point along the way to/from the top of Pedra Da Gavea and they both have some of the best views of Rio de Janeiro. Pedra Da Gavea is also the highest point in Rio De Janeiro as well as the most difficult hike in Rio De Janeiro.
I went on a group "tour" with @Thaleswil. He was an incredible tour guide! The hike takes about 3 hours to get to the top, then we rappelled down (twice) along a different route to get to one of the most best spots for a picture, Garganta do Céu.
Trust me, I don't like to do "tours" normally but I would highly recommend Wil as he makes everything easy and provides the rappelling gear. Full disclosure, I get nothing even if you book 1 zillion dollars worth of tours with him. He is just great at his job and I want to make others aware! At one point, I was in a hard-to-get-to spot and Wil was taking pics of everyone with their own phone. It was easier if he just kept someone else's phone and took the pic of me, but he insisted on taking the pic from my phone (even though it was more work to get my phone to him). He said he didn't want anyone to lose quality of their pictures if they have to send it on whats app or google photos. He really has your best interests in mind! He also saves you from dying while rappelling and stuff.
