A modern classic from Hamburg, Germany created by Jörg Meyer of the Lion in Hamburg in 2008. it was originally called Gin Pesto.
Ingredients:
- 60ml (2oz) Gin
- 22.5ml (3/4oz) Fresh lemon juice
- 10ml (1/3oz) sugar (simple syrup)
-12 basil leaves
How to make (Method):
1. Put basil leaves in shaker and muddle them.
2. Add ice and the rest of the ingredients.
3. shake for 8-10 seconds.
4. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
5. Garnish with a basil sprig.
That is the Gin Basil Smash a refreshing gin cocktail if I must say. I can see why it is popular and would recommend to anyone to try it.
