EFT has furnished powerful ideas to consider potential extensions to General Relativity. Predictions from such can potentially be contrasted with cosmological observations and gravitational waves. In this talk, Luis Lehner discusses issues one faces in trying to explore such theories in the non-linear regime of compact binary mergers, as well as ideas/efforts to address them.
