Getting a character-reference letter isn’t always easy. It’s especially difficult for people who’ve been accused of misconduct.

How does a person ask for a character-reference letter when their headlines, or allegations that someone has done something wrong?

Despite the difficulty in asking for a character-reference letter, they can have a huge influence on advancing possibilities for a better outcome.

For example, let me share the story of one of Steven, a medical doctor who faced charges in federal court for violations of the Stark Act.
