Tram in a machine tool is a fundamental part of precision and good machine practice, it happens and it happens often. Alignment and accuracy can’t be taken for granted and easily remedied problems are addressed with good tram work or alignment. I am excited to share with you my latest tool. This Sherline 5800 Next Gen Mill is awesome and a real gem. It is one of those tools that is surprisingly utilitarian and makes things so much easier and aides to better machining. This Mill is the Biggest in the Sherline lineup and I am happy I went with it over other mini, micro, bench, desktop mills. A well tramed machine makes the best of a great machine like the Sherline 5800. For those who are assembling or want to check out the Sherline Lathe Headstock this video shows in detail how I assemble the headstock which is shared between both the mill and lathe.

I think detailed assembly videos are important and helpful to really see and understand the nuts and bolts of a good machine. This video will help educate and show viewers how this Sherline mill goes together. Whether you love or hate how it all works together, this will help viewers decide what machine is right for them.
