We caught up with Richard Hammond at Castle Combe circuit to find out his views on MGBs.
Richard Hammond is one of the best known automotive TV presenters with credits ranging from the BBC’s “Top Gear” through Amazon’s “The Grand Tour”, as well as the very popular YouTube channel, DriveTribe. His latest TV series, “Richard Hammond’s Workshop” is currently shooting its third series for Discovery, and the first two series have been screened on Quest in the UK.
The series centres on Richard’s latest business venture – a classic car restoration and repair business called “The Smallest Cog”, based in Hereford. The last car Richard drove on Top Gear was an MGB GT – surprisingly the first MGB he had ever driven – and he was so taken with the car that he bought it and converted it for racing use.
One thread of the TV series is following the team as they take part in races for classics including The Classic Sports Car Club’s Swinging Sixties series with the MGB-GT driven by Anthony Greenhouse and professional Abbie Eaton.
