Genesis Chamber Orchestra (GCO) was started in March, 2021 as a passion project by Mr.Keerthan Robert, who aimed to give students and budding musicians an orchestral platform to share their common love for music. Within a short period of time, the orchestra has grown and is now a family of close to 60 musicians of different age groups and expertise ! GCO is now a platform where students play alongside of experienced musicians to learn and grow in their journey of music.

‘Bilahari for Strings’ is a famous arrangement of the Carnatic music raga ‘Bilahari’, by Dr.Augustine Paul.

Bilahari is a raga mode in Carnatic classical music, which is the pentatonic major while ascending and major scale while descending. Though the tune of the composition is from a standard that defines the raga very well, the arrangement for strings in the western classical tradition. The structure of the piece in western theoretical terms is simple Rondo form. The rondo theme is only 4 bars long, but the 5 episodes keep growing longer as they progress.
