Imperial County Public Health Department will be observing Child Passenger Safety Week, September 19 – 25, 2021. The observance utilizes activities such as community events and car seat checks to make sure that not only car seats are installed correctly, but that children are buckled correctly. Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that on average, two children under 13 were killed and an estimated 374 were injured every day in 2019 while riding in cars, SUV’s, pickups, and vans.
