Hello everybody, This is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for single axle trailers with the three inch round axles, and this has a 7,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this suspension system will consist of these two rugged steel units that work with your trailer's existing axle and hubs to absorb road shock, minimize trailer bounce and rattle regardless of load size, and to help protect your trailer's components in cargo. Now this suspension system provides a nice, smooth, quiet, stable ride for your trailer. This will replace your existing leaf spring suspension. The pivoting arms, right in here, they'll help the trailers stay level on uneven ground.
It ensures all the tires hug the road, even on a rough bumpy terrain. On the inside here, they use these Double Aeon Rubber Springs which absorb road shock and support the trailer's load. These will compress and become stiffer and stronger as the load increases, and that will even act as a return device to minimize rattle and bottoming out. It does use the fitted rubber bushings, which allow these control arms to be fully engaged, ensuring the springs are in use at all times, and it is constructed of tough, long lasting rubber. Now, these units are heavy duty steel construction.
You can see they have a nice, durable, rust resistant powder coat finish on them. Makes them virtually maintenance free. And this is a bolt on or weld on installation to the trailer frame. Now the hardwood install is not included. There is some drilling and welding required.
Couple notes on the installation: I'll show you on the back here, you notice these two brackets on the back right here, it will require a two inch by two inch hollow steel cross member that'll go across here to help support it. That cross member needs to have a wall thickness of about a quarter of an inch, and it will be installed between the two right here. Also on the front here, these included axle seats that'll attach to your trailer axles. These must be welded to your axle beam, so if you already have seats on your axle you'll need to grind or cut the welds off to remove those seats and replace them with these Timbren axle seats. A few specs on this: Again, the application is single axle trailers with three inch round axles.
It is for a quantity of two suspension units, comes with a nice set of instructions, it'll describe how everything installs.
