If you have ever considered diving, would you take it a step further by diving in Antarctica, whose landmass is almost totally covered by ice? Most of you probably wouldn’t dare it, but some are there for quite daring and adventurous. One such human is Jill Heinerth, a woman whose bravery is rare and she performed the first ice cave dive facing several dangerous challenges.
Iceberg B-15 was the largest iceberg ever documented in terms of surface area. It was approximately 159 by 20 nautical miles (295 by 37 km) in size, with a land area of 3,200 square nautical miles (11,000 km2). This is comparable to the size of Jamaica or Quatar. Iceberg B-15 was given birth by Antarctica's Ross Ice Shelf in March 2000, splitting into tiny icebergs, the greatest of which was labeled Iceberg B-15-A. B-15A drifted off Ross Island and north into the Ross Sea in 2003, ultimately dividing up into multiple lesser icebergs in October 2005.
