Conqueror vs Jax works because it stacks with Phoenix (R) so combined with R's slow, Jax will have a hard time "jumping" on Udyr. And combined with Manaflow, you'll be able to not lose all your mana right away and spam abilities if he all-ins. You don't run Grasp vs Jax, because if you try to Auto-Attack him, he just runs away. Compared to running Conqueror vs. Jax, he will sit on your R and lose HP, despite trying to run away.
