The draft mathematics curriculum is further evidence the process of shaping the Australian school curriculum has been “hijacked by activists,” according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“When it comes to maths … our kids are now three years behind their peers in Singapore,” she said.
“So, while a new maths curriculum is needed, it has to be one that’s better, not worse.”
It comes as more than 200 concerned citizens have signed an open letter to the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority asking that the new draft maths curriculum be “scrapped” and that the whole process “start again from scratch”.
Ms Credlin said the curriculum is “supposed to be maths,” yet it’s propagating the cultural revisionism that expert anthropologists and archaeologists reject.
“This has got to stop,” she said.
“Alan Tudge, we’re all relying on you to lead the charge.”
