The Freedom Front Plus Western Cape Premier candidate, Peter Marais has vowed to push for a cessation of the province from the rest of South Africa if he's elected Premier. He says he'll do this through a referendum. Marais says the Constitution does allow for this. Both the DA and ANC in the province say Marais's suggestion is crazy.
