The Education department in the Eastern Cape is confident that it will improve its matric results for the class of 2016. The province has been the bottom of the class for the past five years. It recorded a pass rate of 56.8 percent for 2015. The department is positive saying it had the least amount of labour unrest since 2011. Critical positions like the head of department was also filled in 2016.
But there were still problems.
