The Record of Arms continues its survey of the wartime career of the Messerschmitt Bf-110 heavy twin-engine fighter aircraft and men of the Luftwaffe's Zerstorer squadrons who flew them into battle. This episode examines another deployment of these powerful aircraft after their decisive defeat in their original role of long-range escort fighter in the Battle of Britain. Turning this time to the east, the use of the heavy fighters in the invasion of Russia and in the titanic conflict which followed. A special emphasis is placed on the experience of a veteran unit which served in the Far North above the Arctic circle, where its many duties brought it into action against Allied forces of many kinds over the frozen seas and tundra of this wild and desolate region.
