If you are like me and are missing some above shoulder or overhead ROM into abduction and External rotation then he is a mobility / rehab exercise for you.
My rotator cuff tear gives me constant impingment and ongoing pain if I push it above head and try pressing work.
So when it's like this I stay away from those movements and then I lose range. Use it or lose as they say. Plus a bit of old frozen shoulder tightens the front.
So to loosen it up and make it feel better we need to get into the range without using the affected tendon too much. Eccentric movements like this work well for me and help me get into those ranges as well as give me some experience of normal movement patterns to help me.
In the end I will be heading off for surgery for a full repair of the supraspinatus in December.... but more on that later! .
