Catherine Hernandez is a Toronto, Ontario-based writer, author and playwright. In her debut novel, Scarborough, Hernandez tells the story of a neighbourhood that refuses to fall apart in the face of poverty and crime. In this special CBC Books' video series, she explains why today’s Canadian writers need to be aware of anti-oppression and decolonization in order to be successful.
