In 1872, Two men answer an advertisement in The Sydney Morning, for positions at a Country Store. The Two men turn up floating in the Parramatta River days later, having been murdered.
Police are astonished as to who would do this and why anyone could do this to other human beings. The description of the killers are gathered from many people who had come into contact with the murdered men.
Strangely, it is almost as if the murdered men, made sure they were known, as one man told his business to many at a pub, and the other made sure a few people including a pawnbroker, knew he had a gold watch in his possession.
Police catch the murderers red handed with the possessions from the murdered men, a trial is had and the men are hung.
The case was closed....
Until 90 years later, when a man takes apart the case and looks at evidence that was overlooked or dismissed.
His theories of what may have happened are quite interesting and make a lot of sense. Were the murderers merely puppets in a conspiracy? Could the murdered men have lived?
Is it safe to answer a Classifieds ad?
