Mr. Deng caught a strange fish under the Baijusi Bridge on Babin Road, Chongqing recently. He decided to release the fish back into the Yangtze River after becoming concerned that it might be a protected species. Mr. Deng’s concerns proved to be valid as experts confirmed through video footage that this strange fish is indeed a national first-class protected species — the Yangtze River sturgeon.
