Germany's far-right AfD party has held a rally in the city of Magdeburg three days after a deadly attack on a Christmas market there. Several hundred people turned out to hear AfD party co-leader Alice Weidel speak. At the rally, Weidel denied the AFD had anything to do with the suspect of the Christmas market attack, which left 5 people dead and 200 injured. German authorities have reported that the suspect expressed support for the AfD on his X account.
During the day a stream of mourners continued laying flowers at a makeshift memorial set up on the steps of a church across from the attack site.
