Auli is in Chamoli district in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand, India. Auli, also known as Auli Bugyal, in Garhwali, which means "meadow", is located at an elevation of 2,800 metres (9,200 ft) above sea level. Between June to October, the valley has one of highest number of flower species found anywhere in the world, with 520 species of high altitude plants, 498 of which are flowering plants with significant populations of endangered species.
Auli Ropeway is the major attraction in Auli offering magnificent and majestic Himalayan views. A highest and longest ropeway in Asia after Gulmarg, Auli cable car covers a distance of 4.15 kms. Auli cable car also called locally as Gondola and connects Auli with Joshimath. Located at 3016.3 mtrs above sea level, Auli is one of the best skiing and paragliding destination in India recieving large number of tourist.
Deemed to be the next Davos, AULI is one of the longest ski slope in the world, making it an enviable ski destination. The ropeway at Auli is among the only chairlifts in India, and remains one of the most cutting edge ones in this region.
