After the two castles at Small Heath, we quickly drove to Atherstone to see The Flying Scotsman pass through.
News of this journey had clearly gotten out as the station grew very busy in a short amount of time, luckily for me I got there before the crowds grew and I had secured my spot.
This was my first time at Atherstone, and I have to say it was a good first impression, with about 5 high-speed class 390’s passing through before Scotsman made her appearance.
Despite all the divided opinions on Scotsman, I think she’s a lovely locomotive and it was amazing to see her at speed.
