Footage posted online shows soldiers fighting in the streets of Voznesensk, in the Mykolaiv region of southern Ukraine.
After occupying areas in Kherson Oblast, Russian forces have met heavy opposition in neighboring Mykolaiv. As of March 8, Russian forces had pushed around the city of Mykolaiv and moved northwest to near Voznesensk, according to tracking conducted by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a Washington-based think tank.
This video, which circulated on Wednesday, March 9, shows soldiers with yellow arm bands and Ukrainian flags on their uniforms — and some individuals in street clothes — take up positions on a street corner in Voznesensk.
